I'm not sure what this extremely off model characters thing is because I looked at the screenshots the internet posted and played the demo. Are we really going to complain about re-used assets when there are 5 previous games that re-used the same assets up until MvC3?
There were options with that and I'm sure if it was popular would've become a future model of fighters. What exactly is a "crucial story mode character"? is that a way of saying because they are plot heavy for a game they are critical to the gameplay? If people hate the concept of the paywall maybe they should've taken to the SFV model of play to unlock as well as pay to unlock. Even when inspired by the past it makes it better not the same. Art isn't a linear platform, so why is it now that they want to try a new art style it's worth complaining over? Things move forward not backwards.
